This film follows the story of one of the surviving soldiers from the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, the only unit to storm the beach during D’Day composed entirely of African American soldiers.
One of my favorite films, Saving Private Ryan, showed the D’Day battle in Normandy, but as you may recall, there weren’t any African American soldiers featured in that battle scene.
The power of Gen AI lets me explore that story that is hardly told. My grandfather was a solder who served in France during WW2, so I feel compelled to tell this story. I’m taking my time with this one and giving it the justice it deserves.
