AI Tools & Notes

Beyond the main generator, the Tools sidebar and Notes tab add specialised workflows and collaboration on the Create page.

Opening Tools

Click the Tools icon in the left sidebar. The panel header reads Tools.

Generate visibility (top of Tools)

The same Off / On / Min controls as the Generator visibility section — quick access without the AI Tools dock.

AI Tools dock

At the bottom of the workspace, expand AI TOOLS to reveal tool shortcuts. The sparkles button toggles the generator; individual tools open inline panels that replace the gallery temporarily.

Tool reference

Unavailable tools show Unavailable or a reason in the tooltip when your workspace doesn't include that tool. Model-powered tools also follow Free/Paid model access, workspace policy and available credits. See Models & Credits.

Inline tool panels

When a tool is open:

• The gallery may be replaced by the tool UI
• Back to Tools or Exit the current tool mode returns to the normal view
• The generator sets to Off while the tool is active

Workspace tool gates

Your organisation can enable or disable tools per workspace in Workspace Admin. Common gates:

• gallery — entire Asset Library
• upscale, ai_restyler, frames, model_gen — matching tools above

If a tool is missing, ask your workspace admin.

Frames (Instant Frames Gen)

Frames generates a grid of related images (e.g. 2×2 or 3×3) from:

• Scene prompt
• Reference images with roles
• Shot intent preset (Auto, Dialogue, Action, etc.)
• Model quality (draft / high)

Use Frames to explore a look before committing frames on the Storyboard stage, or to produce options for a single scene.

Requires the frames tool on your workspace.

History

History opens the History Controls panel where the active workspace has access.

Workflow:

1. Select an image or video in the gallery
2. Click FETCH SELECTED HISTORY
3. The panel builds a lineage graph of related generations

Idle state: History is idle. Press FETCH SELECTED HISTORY to build lineage for the selected asset.

If History is locked, check the access message in the panel or ask your workspace administrator. Existing personal workspaces may have different tool access from the current shared production workspace.

Production Components tab

When Components appears in the sidebar, it opens Production Components — reusable character sheets, locations, props, and style references.

This is separate from Required Elements on the Plan stage:

• Plan tracks what the production needs
• Components on Create holds the actual asset records, versions, and approved references

You can promote gallery assets to components from context menus or ask Ani to promote asset to component.

Notes tab

The Notes sidebar is a project-wide inbox for asset discussions.

Note statuses

Filter the gallery to assets with notes using the sticky-note toolbar icon — see Gallery & Filters.

Project Discussion

A pinned thread titled Project Discussion covers cross-asset topics.

Adding notes

From any asset preview: Add note or Open notes. Ani can also contribute review notes in some workflows.

Shotlist PDF

From the selection bar, Shotlist PDF (N) exports selected assets with metadata fields (prompt, model, generation ID, created date, etc.) when the active workspace has export access. A locked action explains the workspace restriction.

Ask ANI from Tools context

With Tools or Notes open, Ask ANI still has full project context. Useful prompts:

• "Upscale the selected image to 4K"
• "Run Frames for this scene with the approved style reference"
• "Organise everything with notes marked Needs Work into a review folder"
